journaling on scrapbook page: Did I Ask For Help?
"Bette cleaning trout in the woodpile. Mom somehow didn't get against the wall close enuf out of sight. Think Chuck sneaked me in. Dogs, Ringo and Shep. June 1964"
my journal entry: "1-20-08 Looking for an older color photo for KB Challenge. Came across this one of my little sis, Bette and Mom in 1964. Every part of this photo is filled with memories of the old farm life and family traditions.
Summertime trout fishing. We all learned how to fish, clean and cook them to delicious perfection. I can almost taste them right now.
Dad's old wood pile. The dogs and the cat always ready to help out. We always had at least one of each. The old sheds, truck for hauling grain we grew and harvested each Aug. plus hay for the cattle.
Mom did the journaling on the back of the photo. Otherwise I would never have known what they were doing in this picture on that beautiful June day. Her words were a welcome gift for us today."
Scanning older color photos have some unique problems and I always spend time working on adjusting color, contrast and other things to help it to look as close to the original as possible.

First f all, thanks for sharing what you do with the photos. This one and how important your mother's notes are, is a lesson in itself. Your journaling will make this farm life live on for many more generations. Thanks for sharing this with us.
